Activity-Based Positions

Activity-Based Technician

The primary duty of this position is to assist in the delivery of interventional training which includes performance of locomotor training, neuromuscular electrical stimulation and functional mobility for individuals with spinal cord injury. Position will assist with data collection, data analysis and operate a variety of equipment. Individual will serve as participant advocate in various research projects and experimental sessions.

Minimum education requirements are 60 credit hours completion toward degree in exercise science, physiology, or health related field or two years of experience in patient care or research in activity-based therapy or a human locomotor training setting required.

Senior Activity-Based Technician

The primary function of this position is to provide advocacy in the delivery of services. Candidates for this position must have completed an Activity Based Technician I position and be competent in delivering plans of care for clinical patients, wellness clients and research participants in a supportive environment. Position will assist with data collection, data analyses and completion of experiment and intervention sessions.

Minimum education requirements are a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, physiology, or health related field or four years of experience in patient care or research in activity-based therapy or a human locomotor training setting./

Lead Activity-Based Technician

The primary role of the Lead is to serve as an extension of the supervisor providing leadership for day-to-day operations. The individual will assist in development and implementation of activity-based progression plans for clients, patients and research participants. Position will serve as lead trainer for research participants and assist in the delivery of research protocol.

Minimum education requirements are a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, physiology, or health related field. Required experience includes one year patient care or research experience in an activity based therapy or human locomotor training setting.
